Regulation of the banking system liquidity

In the process of regulating the banking system liquidity by the central bank focus of attention is the gap that arises from a mismatch between aggregate demand and aggregate liquidity supply battery, indicating the presence of a structural deficit or surplus of liquidity in the banking system. Adequately to the situation with liquidity in the market, the central bank takeovers (sterilization) of liquidity - to remove excess liquidity support operations or liquidity of the banks - to cover its deficit. In the first case the central bank is a net debtor, the second - a net creditor. Now for the management of liquidity in the banking system, the National Bank uses the following basic mechanisms of refinancing: overnight credits made available through a permanent line refinance refinancing loans granted by tender, operation repo with government bonds and swap operations in Ukraine, which in the structure of loans granted National Bank of Ukraine amounted to 10 months of 2008, respectively, 65.9, 7.5, 9.7, 2.4%.
