Unemployment in Russia is growing rapidly

According to the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat), in January the number of unemployed in our country has increased dramatically - up to 6.84 million people. As a result, the unemployment rate was 9.2%, up 1% compared with December. Number of officially registered in January this year, unemployment is 29% higher than the figures for January 2009. Note that in comparison with December 2009, the number of unemployed in absolute terms has increased by 670 thousand or 10.8%! And such a phenomenon occurs when all the cutting of the economically active population, which in January 2010 reached the mark of 74.6 million people (slightly more than 52% of the total population). At the same time in government employment offices as unemployed in January, there were 2.2 million people, of which 1.9 million people were receiving unemployment benefits.
