Daimler AG lost last year more than 2.6 billion euros

German automaker Daimler AG reported on the results of operations for the year 2009. Alas, these financial statements is very disappointing. Net losses of German corporations reached the level of 2.64 billion euros, against a net profit of 1.41 billion euros in 2008. Proceeds from sales of cars fell by 19.9% to 78.92 billion euros instead of 98.47 billion euros a year earlier. At the same time in the fourth quarter 2009 revenue decreased only by 11% and reached a value of 21.32 billion euros. Operating profit for the period quarter was 448 million euros, against an operating loss of 1.95 billion euros a year earlier. However, the explanations of the representatives of Daimler about the deteriorating financial performance is very typical - the economic crisis, in particular the reduction in demand for cars worldwide. Because of these losses Daimler AG management refuses to pay dividends.
