Eurozone GDP fell 4.1% last year

According to the EU statistical agency Eurostat, euro-zone economy fell in 2009, more than what is previously reported. So on the basis of the past year decline in GDP of 16 countries belonging to the euro zone was 4.1%. Previously this figure was estimated at 4%. Note that in the third and fourth quarters, GDP grew by 0.4 and 0.1%, but total annualized negative. Moreover, the slowdown in the euro area in the last quarter of 2009, analysts attributed to the stagnation of the German economy, and a new reduction of the Italian GDP. Currently in Europe, domestic demand is not growing, and the basis for growth is the increase in exports. And against the backdrop of severe crisis in Greece and problems in other countries - EU member states in the near future significant positive changes are expected.
